Over a quarter of dogs deal with skin irritation. If your dog is often itchy, has a dull coat, or sheds a lot, their food could be the problem. Brad from Steve’s Real Food provides information on processed foods, and their alternatives.
Here’s an example of a short embedded video with a full transcript to show what your training could look like. Handing out printed sheets with links can slow things down, especially for a company that wants to grow quickly. Staff should be able to click a link, watch a video, and read along if they choose.

Over 25% of dogs suffer from skin irritation. If your dog is dealing with itchiness, a dull coat, excessive shedding, it’s likely a sign their food isn’t the right fit. Most pet foods are like a perfect storm for unhappy skin. The protein is low quality, it’s been cooked until a third of it is unusable, the fats are oxidized and rancid, and fillers and additives create irritation in the body – but they don’t have to live with all that discomfort. Just switching to raw food, to real food, is enough to completely change life for most of these dogs. There’s actually a survey of over 200 dogs who switched to raw. More than 90% found relief just by switching to real food. Another study showed that puppies raised on raw food are a lot less likely to have allergies later in life. This is exactly what your dog’s body expects. Real food is the best way to support healthy skin and a smooth, soft coat. A lifetime of cheaply made processed food is hard on us, and it’s the same for our dogs – or any other animal on the planet. We all need some real food.
